Porcelain Jewellery with Sprig Moulds

£60.00

Tutor: Rhi Jarman

Date & Time: Sunday 9th February, 10am - 1pm

Join ceramic artist Rhi Jarman, to create porcelain jewellery with sprig (press) moulds and stamps.

In this workshop, Rhi will supply a range of sprig (press moulds) of natural forms such as shells and fossils for you to create your own pendants for necklaces, earrings etc. We’ll be using porcelain paper clay which transforms into fine, beautiful jewellery for daily use. You will begin by rolling the clay and pressing it into a variety of handmade textured stamps and moulds to experiment, before creating final pieces. Rhi will also demonstrate how to add colour and decoration with underglaze and oxides.

Your pieces will be fired following the class for you to transform into necklaces, earrings etc. Some wire hooks and jump rings to fasten jewellery will be provided, but chains/earring hooks are not.

What will I learn?

Hand building and press mould techniques, fettling and decorating.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, or for novice or intermediate potters to try out porcelain paper clay, or to expand their skills and techniques.
